Merino Wool

The manufacturing process of merino wool follows the mechanical processing principles used for animal fibers. Raw sheep fleece is transformed into yarns or fabrics through following steps:
- Shearing
- Skirting: The fleece is sorted and graded according to its quality. Dirt, burrs, and heavily contaminated sections are removed.
- Scouring: The fleece is washed to remove grease (lanolin), dirt, sweat residues, and other impurities.
- Carding
- Spinning: The carded fibers are twisted into yarn.
- Dyeing
- Weaving or knitting
- Finishing
